Beginning of study: Using Google to find and choose cancer care.

On the following screen, we'll ask you to initiate a Google search. There are no right or wrong answers; we are simply learning how you search and interact with search results listed.

Scenario

Please imagine you’ve recently been diagnosed with early-stage colon cancer. Survival rates for this stage of colon cancer are nearly 100%. Your medical team has caught the cancer very early, and with treatment, you are expected to make a complete recovery.

Where to get treatment is a crucial decision. While a variety of sources may influence where you’d seek treatment, please use Google for the purposes of this study.

Browse and click any results you’d like. Please “think out loud” as you search and describe your thoughts and reactions.

  • What results are you drawn to?
  • What elements of the results stand out to you?
  • Which clinic, treatment center, or doctor would you ultimately choose to contact first, and WHY?
